Australia is known for its diverse cultural celebrations and Easter is no exception.
The Sydney Royal Easter Show might be the country’s most iconic Easter event, but let’s be honest, who wants to tow their caravan through Sydney? Here’s a few events to tickle your fancy that are easier to navigate to with your van.
BENDIGO EASTER FESTIVAL
Bendigo’s beautiful Rosalind Park and surrounding streets will be transformed into a vibrant precinct bursting with family-friendly entertainment during the Easter long weekend.
The festival includes an extensive program of activities and attractions offering something for all ages including a huge Easter egg hunt on Good Friday. Other events include the Rotary Market, live music and hands-on activities and performances.
Park your caravan in the vicinity and partake in the Easter fun. Tickets and details available here.
BLUESFEST
Byron Bay Bluesfest has been showcasing music from around the world every Easter long weekend since 1990. This year Aussie rock icon Jimmy Barnes will be making his return to the stage after undergoing successful open-heart surgery.
It’s a perfect event for caravanners, with enough space at the 300-acree Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm (11km north of Byron Bay) for more than 6000 guests to camp.
Barnes will join an already star-studded lineup that includes Welsh Crooner superstar Tom Jones and Australia’s favourite Hawaiian Jack Johnson, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Portugal. The Man, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Taj Mahal, Elvis Costello, ARIA-winning Teskey Brothers, fan favourites Matt Corby and Ziggy Alberts, plus Australia’s 2024 GRAMMY winner, Tommy Emmanuel.
Bluesfest will take place over five days across the Easter Long Weekend from Thursday 28 March – Monday 1 April 2024. One-day, three-day and five-day tickets are on sale now at www.bluesfest.com.au.
EASTER IN THE COUNTRY FESTIVAL
For a laid-back Easter experience, make your way to Roma in western Queensland. The Easter in the Country festival exudes country charm with a mix of rodeo events, street parades, and live music.
Held from 28 March – 1 April 2024, the festival is heading into its 48th year, with the country’s best cowboys coming to put on a fantastic show.
Set up in the nearby caravan parks for a relaxed and authentic Australian Easter celebration.

GIANT EASTER EGG HUNT
Have your little ones travelling with you? Don’t miss this – the Easter Bunny has been spotted just 20 minutes from Gosford and Hornsby scattering bucket-loads of chocolate among Glenworth Valley’s wilderness.
With more than 25000 chocolate eggs to be found, kids will walk away with up to 15 eggs each. There’s a brand-new hunt area this year – exclusively for little ones aged three to seven, plus a section for eight to 14-year-old’s.
With jumping castles, lead pony horse rides, a petting zoo and tasty treats from onsite vendors, it promises to be the most special Easter Sunday yet.
The hunt is on Easter Sunday morning (March 31, 2024) at the Glenworth Valley Outdoor Adventures centre (69 Cooks Road, Glenworth Valley) with session times at 9am, 10am and 11am.

It’s perfect if you’re looking for a family-friendly event that’s a little different this holiday season.
